I am home

It is hard to believe that it is over a week since I last wrote a blogpost and that I am not with my family in Holland anymore. You know I already miss them so much I just want to jump back on that plane right now.

Thank goodness I needed to get my creations ready as soon as I came home for a display at the Orangery, a wonderful artful place for exhibitions otherwise I would not have been acting very responsible

you know.

Well today came that day at the Orangery

 Together with the Well Women's Centre I celebrated National women's day

It was fabulous and I had a great response especially for my Popjes designs.

 Pictures were taken for an article in the newspaper and I was approached by someone who wanted to talk about branding my Popjes design.

  Can it get anymore exciting you think, I wonder were this will go?

29 faces coming alive

The 29 Face Challenge has finished....sniffff....

I have enjoyed every bit of it, although it was hard it was also a very pleasurable experience. I have met some lovely new and old people. Can you believe I managed to draw nearly every day, well it is because of that I have decided that one of my popjes is allowed to come alive.

If you follow my blog you may already have met Lottie Popjes and her Ted from the postcard Challenge. Well it is Lottie who is coming alive and I am sending her on an adventure. Over the last year I have learned so much about art by trying to develop this little doll  and now having done the face challenge I have gained the confidence to take things further. If I can make myself draw every day I can certainly make Lottie Popjes live a life. But for now folks, I am having a little break I am flying out to see my family in Holland for a few days.

Thanks for all your lovely comments about losing my Mojo. I am so glad it doesn't just happen to me!  I think it was about feeling fed up with the old and needing to explore something new. Don't get me wrong I love my popjes but I feel I need to take them onto a new road. I may have the answer and it is really exciting me. I will share her with you tomorrow.... oh no the last day of the 29 face Challenge. I can hardly believe a whole month has gone by.

Yesterday because of the absent Mojo I wasn't able to paint at all and as I have fallen behind I am showing you an old ish face. Well not that old as this gorgeous girl is my young daughter. Ooooh don't you love cheating!

 

 

 However today my Mojo came rolling back in, very fast and furious so I couldn't help but sketch this little darling!

Yesterday I made this small painting for the 29 face challenge

She wasn't really finished.

I was going to put some shadows in to give the painting some more depth.

But I didn't feel like doing any more painting.

I needed to sew stuff for an upcoming art market

so while busy I got this bright idea

I managed to fall behind again with the 29 Face Challenge,

 so this is my second post for today

Meet Pipo, another very small and fast drawing with graphite and inktense pencils. Have I met you somewhere before Pipo? It surprised me how in this drawing I could pull together so much from all the other 23 faces. A group drawing is on the agenda for the end of this month.

I created this number 21 face drawing yesterday. I must have picked up on my unconscious self because today I am feeling off it with a stomach bug. The best thing for me now I guess is to take myself off to bed so I can get fixed.

I spend all weekend looking after family and friends 

so now it is time to let my hair down.

Oooooops I am running behind with the 29 face Challenge. I have a good excuse because my daughter's bedroom needed a face lift.

I promise you I will catch up tonight with two more faces. I am not sure if I will have time to post them but this is the first in a row of three.

I do feel out faced by technology at times

so new things may get put on the shelf for a while. 

My children bought me a drawing pad for Christmas in 2010.

I never used it until yesterday,

I really enjoyed playing with my new ish toy

Face Twelve for the 29 face Challenge

I remember being little and how I looked forward going to school on my birthdays. As a treat you were given this special birthday hat and you were allowed to treat everyone to sweets. I am not sure if I am still fond of the idea of a hat but cake pops all around!
